No More Excuses

No more excuses. No more lame reasons for giving up too soon, leaving a job unfinished, or giving up on myself. No more whiney self-talk about why I can’t do this, or shouldn’t attempt that. No long stories for why I didn’t get this done, or complete that task.

At my age, it’s simply time to get rid of all the excuses.  If you’re reading this and you’re decades younger than me [And this is very possible, given that I’ve got quite a few decades …

My Apologies

 

My apologies sometimes seem sufficient, and sometimes -not so much. For the record, I’ve not apologized as many times as I’ve needed to. And I’ve often wished I could do more to correct a wrong assumption or cross word, or poor choice. It feels so good when we build the bridges and fill in gaps where feelings have been hurt or credit has not been properly given.

Peace is There

I have known times of almost perfect peace. There have been, in those moments, pure joy. More goodness. More of a feeling of at-one-ment with God. More happiness or strength or – whatever my soul needs at that very point in time.

 I love C. S. Lewis’s words which remind us that  apart from God, we could not feel the happiness or peace we’re looking for.  It’s kind of like the song -   Lookin’ for love in all the wrong places.
