Joy!

Thank you for sending in several wonderful quotes for me to share. Today I want to focus on joy.

This first one is from Sarah. It’s one of my favorites, too!

Optimism is like Sunshine

Optimism is like Sunshine

Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured

Gordon B. Hinckley, dear teacher that He was, understood the power of optimism, faith, and happiness so well.  There are obviously times of sorrow- sometimes great sorrow.  More easily, the mending comes and the sunshine peeks into our soul, as we make an effort to enjoy the little tiny things.  Having had sorrows on every side through the years, I am acquainted with how HARD this can be. Some times it’s just “For this hour I will prevail”, or “For the next five minutes I will stop everything going on inside my mind and heart in order to still my soul and pray.

After the storms, I’ve seen that the scars aren’t so bad, if I learned something significant and better gained appreciation for the tutorials of mortal journeys.  Life is to be enjoyed.

Sharing is joyful

Sharing is joyful

A joy that is shared is a joy made double

Isn’t this the cutest picture? Children are generally the World’s Best at sharing… well, except maybe besides mom and grandmothers.  🙂

When I’m watching a show that hits my funny bone, I want to share it with someone. Watching their happy reaction and hearing their laughter multiplies my own. And, I suppose, the same goes with ice cream.

Joy of The Lord is My Strength

Joy of The Lord is My Strength

Don’t you find that there’s strength in choosing –  choosing – to grow more joy inside? The work of it goes hand in hand with deeper understanding of self and greater appreciation for the Lord. The gratitude helps push the joy along, and the joy helps push me along!

Last one for today is…

A Little Laughter Brings Big Time Joy

A Little Laughter Brings Big Time Joy

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter

Mr. e. e. cummings didn’t hit the nail right on the head, in my opinion. We need several other good principles in order to keep our day from being wasted. But that’s another story.

I do love his intent! Laughter really is good medicine. It brings a certain joy to my mind and heart. I suppose it does to yours, as well.  When we share it together? Even better.

There is so much joy to receive and grow. And it makes us, and the world around us, a better place.  And goodness matters!

    • Thanks for writing, Lisa! What a great point… Gratitude absolutely brings joy. In fact, we miss LOTS of it if we’re longing for ‘something else’ instead of being grateful for we have.. Yes – wonderful. 🙂 Thank you for sharing this!

Mother Nature is GOOD! (Well... except for those scary & difficult storms, etc that make their way to locations where some of you live. God bless you!) ... See MoreSee Less
