Perspective Is Everything

 

It snowed again. I watched the flakes turn from tiny, wet ones to large, perfectly shaped individual geometric patterns. I got caught up in thoughts of how perspective is everything. It made me think of the Jim Carrey movie -How the Grinch Stole Christmas – and the Whoville town that lived within a single snowflake.

Peace is There

Peace is There

I have known times of almost perfect peace. There have been, in those moments, pure joy. More goodness. More of a feeling of at-one-ment with God. More happiness or strength or – whatever my soul needs at that very point in time.

 I love C. S. Lewis’s words which remind us that  apart from God, we could not feel the happiness or peace we’re looking for.  It’s kind of like the song -   Lookin’ for love in all the wrong places.

So goes Santa’s greeting. We see it all over the place. Is it a good thing?

Christmas cheer. Christmas shopping. Christmas lists. Checking off the lists. Making more of them.
