One good Christmas gift we can give ourselves and the world around us? The gift of good humor.

I have laughed my way through a lot of life, so far… Having learned it is more productive, more effective, and more fun than weeping or wringing my hands. But I’ve done plenty of that, too. Humor is a good gift.  I have to use it… otherwise, I might have lost what’s left of my mind by now. Ha. This is a mantra I use:

If you can laugh at it, you can live with it.

That’s what Erma Bombeck said. Well, I also saw Author Unknown. So I’m not sure who originally said it. But it’s a good sentence to remember.

I went to the store with mizithra cheese in my teeth. I smiled and people smiled back. It didn’t bother me one bit. That’s because I didn’t know it was there.  Once I got home, was washing my hands, and looked in the mirror, I saw it. I laughed.

What was I gonna do about it? Not a thing. So maybe I made the day for a few people, shaking their heads at the woman smiling with white stuff in her teeth.

Tis the season. Parties, events, traditions that include lots of food. Is there a tie between our mood and food? Apparently so. This is what I learned from reading an article about our personality and weight gain. Who knew?
