This is me with my daughter and her daughter. The eyes have it. At least, they did on this day when we were clowning around at a store, looking for the ‘right’ glasses for me. Since eye surgery, I need to be more picky about covering my eyes.
So – we made it fun. And memorable. It’s a way of dealing with ups and downs of life in a bonding, more joyful way.

We gathered together in the office when he called.
He’d asked us to come together so that he could share some words on speaker phone. Then he spoke with us individually before, about two hours later, gathering us together once more for his final words before deployment.
